Lecture 1 of Leonard Susskind's Modern Physics course concentrating on Special Relativity. Recorded April 14, 2008 at Stanford University. This Stanford Continuing Studies course is the third of a six-quarter sequence of classes exploring the essential theoretical foundations of modern physics. The topics covered in this course focus on classical mechanics.

It was a crucial paper in the history of cosmology and described events after the Big Bang - yet it's perhaps better known for a bad joke and an author who wrote nothing. Extra footage about the science in this video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_yNwUXIY0c Alpher Bethe Gamow

Here is the biggest (?) unsolved problem in maths... The Riemann Hypothesis.

It's always shining, always ablaze with light and energy that drive weather, biology and more. In addition to keeping life alive on Earth, the sun also sends out a constant flow of particles called the solar wind, and it occasionally erupts with giant clouds of solar material, called coronal mass ejections, or explosions of X-rays called solar flares.
